McCormick
& Schmick's restaurant group began in 1972 when a
partnership between Bill McCormick and Doug Schmick was
formalized. Bill, a native New Englander, who was already a
successful businessman and restaurateur, joined forces with
Doug to create a group of restaurants that are founded on
quality, service, traditionalism and value. The two men
share the highest regard for traditionalism and quality, as
well as a similar love for the classic fish house
